Insta-heatwave

Last week was a bit of a crazy week.  On Tuesday we celebrated our 3 year wedding anniversary by grabbing late afternoon drinks at the Ace Hotel rooftop bar, then headed out west to Crossroads for some delicious vegan cuisine, and ended the night with some Scoops ice cream at home watching the Sopranos.  We also had my sister-in-law and her husband visiting from Boston and they happened to be staying with us on the hottest day of the year so far.  Last week's heat wave was ridiculous and as hot as it was outside, it was actually cooler than inside our second story, no a/c apartment.  Stranded without a car after work one day, I did the only thing reasonable and walked to the park with a throw and a book to sit in the shade and enjoy the warm evening outdoors.  By the time the weekend came, I was exhausted and ready for some relief from the heat so we drove to Orange County and took an afternoon nap with the sounds of the waves and an ocean breeze. It was perfect!

6 months and counting...

Yesterday was the 6 month anniversary of being married to my best friend. I know 6 months is no milestone and in the scheme of things is like a blink of an eye, but it was reason enough for us to celebrate with a day-trip to Wurstkuche and walk around Little Tokyo and a night trip to The York where a little jazz band was playing. Such a fancy and fun-filled day of eating, walking around and having craft beers...quite reminiscent of our honeymoon in Portland! <3
