{pin}spiration: Teacher Style

For a teacher, the late nights grading, early mornings trying to be first in line to make copies and pure exhaustion from teaching 100 seventh graders for over seven hours can make it hard to focus on much else (and that's not including trips to the laundry mat, making dinner, grocery shopping, walking the dog, all while trying to balance somewhat of a social life).  I have been avoiding shopping lately as we are trying to pay off our CC bill, so in the meantime I can only dream of re-vamping my wardrobe next year.  Here are some inspiring outfits that are professional to wear in the classroom yet still represent my personal style.

{Pin}spiration: A Frolic in the Flowers

Today is such a beautiful Spring day in LA!  All I want to do is find a field of flowers to frolic around in. Considering responsibilities prohibit this at the moment, these images will have to do...for now.

Coveted Style {Pin}spiration

As I have been busy adjusting to my role as a full time (temporary) teacher, I haven't had much time for anything else.  However, once a week I like to pop on a few style blogs and Pinterest to stay motivated and get new inspiration for my teacher/normal wardrobe.  With the exception of the last outfit (definitely more of a weekend outfit), here are a few favorite looks to go from the classroom to meeting up with friends or grabbing a beer with my husband.

{Pin}spiration: Home Decorating

This weekend, my husband and I officially decided we would be staying in our current place once our lease is up.  While I love looking for new places to live and imagining all the possibilities in a future space, moving is my worst nightmare and there is something comforting about knowing you will be somewhere for awhile.  We weren't planning on staying more than a year before so we have not really decorated or made this place our own so I cannot wait to do so! We want it to reflect our interests and personalities and feel like home so we want a minimalist-mid-century-bohemian style (yes, I know we are walking contradictions).  We love bright colors with classic yet comfortable pieces and we pretty much just want it to feel like the nineties when we're home.

{Pin}spiration: Neutrals

Two weeks ago, a heat wave began in Los Angeles which really got me into Summer Brights and although the heat wave has really not gone, as of yesterday it has began to subside (slightly).  This heat has gotten me through brights on to neutral and whites.  Wearing light colored clothes reflect the sun as opposed to absorbing it and it just feels so dreamy to be wearing white on white with a pop of color whether it be a belt, shoes or a bright lip.
